Although the impact of the epidemic continues, both textile manufacturing companies and textile machinery companies have already felt the pulse of industry recovery. At the International Textile Manufacturers Federation (ITF) textile machinery conference held online on November 16, many representatives of enterprises participating in the conference said that they faced high raw material prices, weak terminal consumption, and poor logistics. Challenges, they are still optimistic about the future development of the industry.
The "Results of the 11th International Textile Federation's Impact of the New Crown Epidemic Survey" released at the conference showed that although the recovery has not fully met expectations, the overall situation of the global textile industry has improved. In addition, textile machinery companies maintain cautiously optimistic expectations for future development, and it is expected that orders in 2022 will achieve overall growth.
Sustained recovery
As the EU’s second largest textile supplier, Turkey’s recent currency depreciation has further promoted product exports. For example, its exports to Spain have increased by 30%. Mustafa Denizer, head of Turkish company Diktas Textile, introduced that the increase in orders has driven the capital investment of Turkish companies in textile machinery, and this trend will be more obvious in the future.
Since the beginning of this year, the Moroccan textile industry is also accelerating its recovery. Fatima Zohra Allawi from the Moroccan Textile and Apparel Association said that by virtue of its geographical advantages with Europe, America and Africa, a relatively stable political situation, wind energy and other renewable energy development advantages, as well as active participation in free trade agreements and other measures, Morocco The competitiveness of the textile industry chain will continue to improve, with the ability to meet the needs of more customers around the world.
Brady, head of Africa's Brady Investment, said that thanks to the gradual control of the epidemic, the current East African textile industry orders have been scheduled to October next year. He believes that the "African Continental Free Trade Agreement" will benefit the development of East Africa's textile industry. At the same time, in view of the supply chain disruption risk brought by the epidemic to the industry, the East African textile industry is looking forward to building a new textile industrial park to ensure the stability of the supply chain with local fabric supply.
China's textile machinery industry chain is complete, with many varieties and wide categories. In 2020, the export value of China's textile machinery enterprises above designated size will reach US$4.5 billion. Gu Ping, president of the China Textile Machinery Association, introduced that China’s textile industry chain has stable production and higher requirements for equipment continuity, automation, and greening in the process of high-quality development. China’s textile machinery industry will focus on energy conservation and emission reduction. Open up a new development path, strengthen exchanges with domestic and foreign textile machinery enterprises, and create a better future.
In addition, many participants pointed out that the green transformation has also brought new development opportunities for the industry.
Open and win-win
At present, the world economy is recovering hard and tortuous, and growth lacks long-term momentum; open consensus has weakened, and trade regionalization has become a new feature; the digital economy has deeply penetrated and profoundly changed the global industrial pattern; green transformation has accelerated in an all-round way, reshaping industrial competitive advantages and rules. Sun Ruizhe, Chairman of the International Textile Federation and Chairman of the China National Textile and Apparel Council, pointed out at the meeting that the highly globalized textile and apparel industry resonates with the difficulties and twists of the world economic recovery. In response to challenges, the International Textile Federation insists on working together, focusing on development, and maintaining a safe and stable global textile supply chain; insisting on inclusiveness, green and sustainability, and continuously improving the effectiveness, fairness, balance, and coordination of industry development; insisting on innovation-driven , Open and win-win, create an industrial ecosystem of high-quality development.
In China, facing the current highly complex and uncertain development environment, the textile and apparel industry actively explores and practices, promotes openness through extensive and in-depth global cooperation, continues to optimize domestic and foreign production capacity layout, integrates and utilizes global high-quality resources, and promotes global textiles Industry chain value chain upgrade; data-driven flexible manufacturing to promote agility, relying on a new generation of information technology to promote the digital transformation of the supply chain, to create a flexible manufacturing system with precise matching of supply and demand, efficient linking of resources, and interconnection of elements; a collaborative and efficient platform Ecologicalization of the economy, supported by infrastructure such as the Industrial Internet, will accelerate the formation of an industrial system of large, medium and small integration, synergy of production, supply and marketing, and multi-factor agglomeration; promote systemization through a green transformation of the entire product cycle, and accelerate the formation of covering materials, energy, and A green and low-carbon recycling industrial system and governance system from manufacturing to recycling; use mechanism innovation to empower industrial innovation to promote standardization, and continuously improve intellectual property protection measures and mechanisms to promote industry innovation.
From January to September 2021, China’s textile machinery imports and exports totaled US$6.155 billion, a year-on-year increase of 14.25%. Among them, textile machinery imports were US$2.647 billion, a year-on-year increase of 29.15%; exports were US$3.508 billion, a year-on-year increase of 5.25%. "China actively integrates into the world and serves the world, turning world opportunities into Chinese achievements, and turning Chinese achievements into world opportunities." Sun Ruizhe said that opening up has become a distinctive symbol of contemporary China. The space for development is opening up. This is a common opportunity for the world.
